A pretty delightful experience dining here with the fam. Know that if you do a combo, it's a lot of food, so we did 2 combos for 3 people. A tremendous array of side dishes. Only complaint was their internet went down & they could only take cash, but I don't really think it was their fault.

Food and service was AMAZING! Definitely order less than you think because the portions are generous. The ambiance was calm and inviting. I came in around 2 or 3 in the afternoon and the place was empty, I was skeptical of dining there but it instantly became my new favorite place. Telling everyone and coming back!

Chanmaru is a popular Korean restaurant in the Carrollton area, offering a variety of soft tofu soups and other entrees. I was recommended to try this place out, and I was not disappointed! If you love banchan as much as I do, you will love Chanmaru because they offer the most side dishes I've ever seen at a Korean restaurant. Super tasty and they offer sides I've never tried before. I would come back just for that. Their menu offers entree combos which is great if you want to try a soup + meat dish. I recommend trying their spicy pork/squid, and I love their seafood pancakes to share. When I visited, service was attentive and staff were friendly!

Chanmaru has become my favorite traditional Korean spot in town. Fairly new and away from the traffic of ktown, at least on my side. The food here is quality. Not overly pricey and good deals on combo sets. But I come here for the galbi tang (short rib soup). It's fantastic, filling and just tastes clean and delicious. But the tofu soups and meats are just as good. Another fave thing about this place are the wide array of sides they give you. Service is fairly quick and I've never seen this place crowded so you'll get attentive service. Vibe is that of a Korean family style restaurant. Highly recommend.

The best Korean food I've had while visiting Dallas. Let's start off with the banchan, wow they brought out 12 side dishes. I was drooling.thats the best part of eating Korean food. The spicy kimchi was so good along with all the other side dishes! The place is small and staff were friendly. I got the soontofu soup combo. I chose seafood soontofu and Galbi for my entree. The soontofu was served hot and with an egg to crack in it. They served hot rice that went perfect with the stew. The stews broth was delicious and perfect for the cold weather! The beef galbi was perfectly marinated and cooked. One thing that made everything great was the hot tea they serve to you when you first sit down. Overall the best authentic Korean place to try!

My go-to is either the perilla mushroom soontofu or the clam one. Both are nice & light, which offsets the meaty galbi dish. Side dishes are plentiful. I've never had an issue with food or service & this place satisfies my Korean food craving. Both dinner & lunchtimes have not been too crowded either.

Chanmaru was highly recommended to me as a quintessential Korean food spot. When we arrived, I was impressed by the array of banchan we had. We had the soondubu jjigae/galbi combo for $30, which sounds like a good deal, though they were slightly on the small side. The soondubu jjigae was rich and mildly spicy - overall delicious. The galbi cuts were thin but delicious and well-seasoned. I ordered the japchae, which was deliciously savory and had a good mix of meat/veggies in it. The staff here were accommodating - we were running late and cutting it close to when the kitchen closed, but they took our order over the phone and had it ready when we arrived! Unfortunately, I had an upset stomach shortly after eating here. I ate more of the japchae and certain banchan than my partner (who did not have such symptoms). Something may have been wrong with those dishes. Overall, I liked the vibes and the food enough that I would be willing to go back and have the soondubu or other hot/fresh dishes again.
